The districts have been assigned the task of advertising the places in which they live (their biomes) and the GameMaker will decide on who wins points towards food while in the games today.
For now, you must all learn about each others districts/biomes in order to understand the other tributes and their potential weakness while in the Hunger Games.
Task: Complete the table (handed out in class) using all the biomes using the posters created. If you were absent, the poster are on the back window in the classroom. Please complete the table.

Science assignment:
1) tomorrow we will set up our plants to look at plant growth and the other variable that your group decides to experiment on. If you are thinking about adding something to the soil upon initial planting (e.g. Organic soil, gravel, sand, etc) please bring that tomorrow. All other variables can be brought the following day.
2) By Thursday, please complete the note package I handed out in class by watching this video and filling in the blanks.

Industrial Revolution - So ... how did we get here?
Industrial Revolution
Big question: What role do human beings play in our eco-system?
Today was our introduction into the industrial revolution. We started by looking at the difference between current energy and ancient energy. Very impressed by the questions that arose as part of our discussion and looking forward to more tomorrow.
Also, tomorrow we will be looking at Google Classroom as a was to share powerpoints and hand in written work.

Welcome!
We are so very excited to be working with you all this year! After a bit of housekeeping (ie. introductions, course overview, etc.), we modelled how we are all going to be working together this year by building puzzles....blindfolded.
Have a great first day!
