Energy Project - UPDATE

IGS 9

Just wanted to answer a few questions that I've gotten by email (thanks for those).

Your options were:

1/ Just write three paragraphs (the energy, transportation and the human effect of transition) after having read and considered the links and discuss what you feel you've found. Most importantly focus on how this research contributes

OR

2/ If you are inspired by any of the specific energy types you've learned about, you can focus on that one and become an expert in that one thing. Share what you've found considering how it contributes to an overall clean energy transition. You can write, use a prezi or slides ... up to you. You also have the offer to present to your classmates.

As far as when this is due ... my guess is that you have all had enough class time, so I'd like to suggest next Tuesday, when Ms. Paas and I return, as the due date. Those of you who have been able to negotiate our Google classroom page and can submit there. Those who went with the more presentation style can email me, or if you'd like to present, we'll set that up Tuesday. Please feel free to email as others have, if you have any questions (mneufeld@sd63.bc.ca)

Thanks folks. There so much to catch up on. Looking forward to Tuesday.

I am so appreciative of you all today!  What a great conversation we had about "So what?"  We are learning all this content regarding Industrialization and Ecology, but what do you want to take away from this?  What do you want to change?  What are you passionate about?  What do you want to learn more about?  Sorry our conversation had to end due to it being the end of class. We will continue on Tuesday.

Highlights:
"Are humans a parasite of Earth?" - Mars
"We don't take what we need, we take what we want" - Sophie

PLEASE remember to bring in some cardboard for our farming on Thursday.

Industrial Revolution - So ... how did we get here?

Industrial Revolution

Big question: What role do human beings play in our eco-system?

Today was our introduction into the industrial revolution. We started by looking at the difference between current energy and ancient energy. Very impressed by the questions that arose as part of our discussion and looking forward to more tomorrow.

Also, tomorrow we will be looking at Google Classroom as a was to share powerpoints and hand in written work.
