Science Week!!! A midway overview :)
With our upcoming research project (next week), we decided to spend this entire week focused on Science. Can't complain about that!
We started the week with some awesome genetics research presented by Mandi and Clarissa and Carmel on Anencephaly and Colon Cancer and continued our awesome discussion on the periodic table. Tuesday, we got a chance to flex our lab skills while making (and burning) some hydrogen gas.

Thank you to Samaya and Ella for their awesome presentation on Albanism and to everyone for our awesome discussion on Bohr diagrams. Please remember to complete your periodic table homework and workbook pages 28-31.
And most importantly, Chapter 2 Quiz Friday!!
See you tomorrow :)

Happy New Year! (January 4/5, 2015)
Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a nice break :).
Ms. Paas had a successful surgery yesterday and is on her way to recovery :). In the mean time, I will be filling in as your Science Guru! I am looking forward to spending the next few weeks with you awesome IGS kids!
Yesterday, we set our genetic research topic schedule for the week and talked about the structure of the atom. Today we continued our discussion of atoms and elements.
Thanks to Abby for her awesome presentation on Polydactylism!

Today's homework (if it wasn't already completed in class) was to finish your Chapter 2 Vocabulary, read pages 45-47 in your textbook and answer Checking Concept Questions on pg 51. (#6-14).
If you have any questions, please email me at emcavoy@sd63.bc.ca :).
